Description

As part of the Embedded and Network engineering at Devward AB, we deploy a vast wireless networks technologies and protocols to enable the connectivity and security of our devices under different requirements and environments. Two master’s student are expected to implement a proof of concept about Wi-Fi mesh networks for indoors regarding the physical, MAC and network layers with the help of a MATLAB simulator to optimize and improve KPIs of Wireless communications.

The work presented in the thesis will hopefully pave the way for a thorough investigation into how to best optimise and improve the different mesh network KPIs for large scale deployment of IoT devices. The work should also explain how different technics, protocols and algorithms improves the network and their limitations. Finally, the thesis must ultimately result in a proof of concept demonstrating the best-fit-for-purpose algorithm for the needs of the company.

The work will include both theoretical and practical aspects, where the student is expected to examine official documentation, scientific articles, and other relevant sources to define relevant phenomena related to performance optimization. The final deliverable at Devward involves the student reporting existing solution together with their final proposal on how the large-scale mesh network can be implemented.

The degree project is 30 Hp.
